Privacy Policy
This notice describes information handled through ContractorArea’s contractor directory, trial invitations, accounts and file-enrichment features. Contact the service operator at hello@contractorarea.com about privacy, your records or this notice.
Information we handle
- Account and contact information, sign-in identifiers and saved settings.
- Trial invitation information, such as a name, company, LinkedIn profile URL, invitation status, access dates and record allowance.
- Trial session history: visits through personal links, visit times, pages requested and records accessed. Administrators can associate this activity with the invitation and its LinkedIn profile, including when direct-link access does not require entering an email.
- Files and business information you submit for enrichment, processing results and operational logs.
- Directory records obtained from public licensing and certification sources and other sources identified in the service. These can include business names, license numbers, addresses, business contacts and source documents; some records relate to individuals or sole proprietors.
- Technical usage information, browser/device information, requested pages and communications with support.
Purposes and applicable legal bases
We use information to provide requested access and enrichment, enforce trial allowances, operate and secure the service, investigate problems, respond to requests and understand how the product is used. Where GDPR applies, processing necessary to deliver an agreed service is based on that contract; security, administration and service improvement rely on legitimate interests where those interests are not overridden by your rights. Processing required by law relies on the relevant legal obligation. Where consent is required for optional tracking, consent is the applicable basis.
Cookies and analytics
Essential browser storage supports sign-in and preferences. The website integrates Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. When enabled, these tools can collect usage events and device information; Clarity reconstructs interaction sessions and heatmaps to help identify confusing or broken interfaces. Trial session history is also recorded by our own backend and is separate from these tools.
See Google’s privacy policy and Microsoft’s privacy statement for their processing practices. Browser privacy controls can restrict storage and tracking. Contact us to raise an objection or withdraw consent where processing is based on it. This notice does not itself constitute your consent.
Recipients and processing locations
Access is limited to authorized operators and providers involved in delivering the service, including hosting/database infrastructure, Zoho for email, and Google and Microsoft for enabled analytics. Requested enrichment may send relevant business identifiers to the selected data or processing provider. External links are governed by their own services’ policies.
Providers may process information outside your country. Where applicable law requires transfer safeguards, those safeguards must apply to the relevant transfer. Contact us for information about providers involved in your request.
Retention and source history
Account and trial records support access management, usage limits and support. Uploaded files, results and source snapshots may remain stored after a task finishes so that results and source history can be reviewed. Trial expiry does not automatically delete these records. Retention depends on the purpose, account or project status, source-history needs, security needs and applicable legal requirements. Ask us about retention or deletion for your account, upload or listed record.
Your choices and requests
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability or restriction of your personal data, object to processing, or withdraw consent without affecting the lawfulness of earlier consent-based processing. You can also contact the competent data-protection authority. Send requests to hello@contractorarea.com; we may need to verify your identity. For a directory correction, include the record and source reference. Correcting our copy does not amend the original public source.
Security and updates
Keep personal access links private: possession can allow access under your invitation. No online system guarantees absolute security. ContractorArea is intended for professional business use, not children. We may update this notice when the service or its processing changes; the date above identifies the current version.
